Registered Psychotherapist

The therapeutic relationship is a very important tool in therapy. I pride myself on creating a warm, comfortable and engaging environment with my clients which fosters a secure relationship built on mutual trust and respect. I have been working with individual adults for the past eight years in a therapeutic setting. When working with individuals, I have a special interest in working with loved ones who are supporting someone with borderline personality disorder. I enjoy working with clients who are challenged with anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, and stress. I also enjoy supporting clients who are going through a relationship separation, grief and loss. I have experience working with transgender clients undergoing transitions, as well as other LGTBQ+ individuals. I am comfortable working with clients from all backgrounds and cultures. In our first session, we will cover your general history and background to determine which direction we are headed. You can share your goals for therapy, and I will help you create your road map of the path to success. We will also complete a comprehensive, scientific-based assessment for you to gain a better understanding of your struggles and their origins. As we continue our journey, we will explore problem areas and form strategies to help you gain confidence and achieve holistic healing. We will explore the root causes of your symptoms and work towards gaining a deeper understanding and acceptance of your past. We will work towards making positive changes for a future that you can feel content with. I am always learning and increasing my knowledge and tools to better serve my clients. I pull from many different modalities including, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT) mindfulness, internal family systems (IFS), attachment-based therapy and relational therapy. I take a laid-back approach and try to focus on creating a safe space for my clients to feel comfortable to be themselves and share. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brock University, I went on to attend Mohawk College, where I completed a graduate program in Concurrent Disorders. Next, I worked in the non-profit sector for four years before starting in the private sector. I am a registered member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Let’s laugh, cry, and grow together on your journey towards self-discovery and healing.
