Registered Psychologist

If you're struggling with mental health, relationship, or life challenges, it can feel like your life is out of control and falling apart. It's not uncommon to feel overwhelmed, scared, hopeless, helpless and alone. Or to feel numb. We all experience occasional difficulties in response to life’s challenges, but there are times when we feel particularly stuck or discouraged and we need some extra support. It can be difficult to share your most private experiences with someone new, especially if those experiences have caused you shame, and I have a deep respect for those who are willing to pursue counselling. My hope is to help you feel like yourself again; to find joy, fulfillment, connection and peace in your life. Rather than focusing just on symptoms, we will work together to understand and address the root cause of your struggle. When working with me, you will find a safe and calm space of understanding, not blaming or shaming, in which to heal and grow. I have provided individual and group counselling services in private, school, and community settings. I love education and learning so I also facilitate workshops focused on mental health and wellness, have taught in post-secondary settings, and am an author in the area of psychology. I recognize that no single approach is the right one for everyone, and have been trained in a range of evidence-based modalities, including Narrative, Constructivist, Cognitive Behavioural, Mindfulness-Based, Emotion Focused, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapies, as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Not sure what those names mean? Not to worry, I’m happy to explain. I also have a background in biological sciences, which helps me to integrate an understanding of the biological and neurological basis of mental health.
