Biography

I am a Registered Social Worker in Alberta and the founder of Rivet Support Services, a private practice focused on supporting children, youth, and families navigating complex life challenges. My work is grounded in a strengths-based, solution-focused approach and informed by extensive experience in youth mental health, addictions, and crisis services. I work with individuals and families experiencing concerns related to mental health, substance use, family stress, system involvement, and major life transitions. I take a relational and trauma-informed approach, emphasizing collaboration, respect, and practical support. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel heard, supported, and empowered to make informed decisions about their lives. My services include individual and family counselling, crisis support, advocacy, system navigation, and biopsychosocial assessments. In counselling, I focus on helping clients clarify goals, build coping strategies, and develop realistic, manageable steps toward positive change. Advocacy and navigation services support families in understanding processes, accessing resources, and collaborating with professionals. Assessments provide a holistic understanding of strengths, stressors, and areas of need to inform planning and support. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring challenges and identifying solutions that align with their values and needs. My role is not to provide quick fixes, but to walk alongside clients with compassion, insight, and steady support.
