Valerie Dessaulles
Registered Clinical Counsellor
As a paramedic for 15 years before getting my masters' in counselling psychology I understand first hand the impact trauma can have. It doesn't have to be a big dramatic incident, what can be challenging may be the context of the incident and the more we can get deeper into the meanings the more we can have compassion for ourselves. It can be really hard when we are feeling shame or guilt to have compassion for ourselves with these really tough moments, but I am here to help you find that. As well as trauma I work a lot with life transitions - helping you to figure out the next steps in your life. Whether it is going to school, figuring out school futures, retirement, work-life balance, sexuality I am here to provide a non-judgmental sounding block so that you can feel confident in your next step from YOUR perspective.
