Claire Fan

Welcome! My name is Claire. My practice is committed to providing a warm, genuine, collaborative and safe space for you to access the care and support you need.​ I hold a Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation in Disability Studies, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a clinical specialization, from the University of Calgary. I am a registered social worker in good standing with Alberta College of Social Workers, and I'm authorized to provide restricted psychosocial interventions. In addition to my professional role, I am also a wife and a mother of three. I grew up in Asia and I am grateful to be bilingual with Mandarin (Chinese) and English. My experiences have allowed me to connect with and care for people from diverse backgrounds and they have helped me gain more in-depth understanding that navigating our various roles, relationships, responsibilities, and demands in life can sometimes be uncomfortable, overwhelming, lonely, and very exhausting. I hope to be alongside you through the obstacles you are experiencing and move towards wholeness. I bring a variety of experiences working with children, youth, parents, caregivers (family members, foster, and kinship), and adults with needs related to stress, anxiety, depression, identity, grief and loss, self-esteem, trauma, parenting, interpersonal relationships, and various life transitions and adjustments. I use an integrated approach that is trauma-informed, person-centred, collaborative and non-judgemental. ​ At CF Liminal Space Counselling Services, I am passionate about helping my clients navigate through the complexities of life.
