Sidra Junaid @ My Therapy Place
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
As a working parent, I understand how difficult it can be to manage stress, to feel frustrated, and overwhelmed. It’s hard prioritizing mental health when you are already burdened with so many responsibilities whether finances, home, relationships, school, or work. I provide the support and resources clients need to regulate their emotions, adapt better coping mechanisms, reduce their toxic stress, and stop feeling guilty for prioritizing themselves. I work collaboratively with clients to explore their past experiences and how they influence their present day lives.
As a new immigrant to Canada, as well as having been exposed to a myriad of cultures in my younger years, I have grown up to appreciate and acknowledge the diverse and unique experiences each individual brings into therapy. Whether it is the struggles of acculturation, or the hurdles you had to experience while adjusting to the new environment, I am there to support you in this journey.
I use a psychodynamic approach to help clients gain insight into themselves and delve deeper into their subconscious thoughts and feelings. I have a strong belief in the power of self-awareness and self-reflection. I work collaboratively with clients to explore their past experiences and how they influence their present day lives.I draw on principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), mindfulness techniques, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I believe that no one size fits all, and that is why it is important to cater to each client's individualized and unique needs for effective growth and progress.
I allow you to be yourself and express yourself however you may want to - unapologetic, authentic, and raw. I offer a flexible schedule that works for YOU so finding the time for therapy does not feel like a burden. Feel free to reach out and schedule a free consultation!
