Biography

If you've tried talk therapy before but only got so far with the insight you gained, somatic therapy offers a new path towards healing by soothing emotions and physical sensations during the session for change from the get-go. As a Registered Social Worker, I use a social justice lense to make sense of how the environments we grow up in and live in today, impact the beliefs we develop about ourselves and the ways we interact with the world. Understanding how your early relationship patterns and experiences show up today, can help you build a healthier relationship with yourself and others. I am passionate about supporting children, youth and adults from a different cultural backgrounds, including foster, kinship and adoptive families, with specialized training in anxiety disorders, parental separation/divorce, and trauma. I graduated from the University of Calgary with a Masters in Social Work with a Clinical Specialization in 2016 and have been practicing as a Registered Social Worker since 2010. I use attachment-focused therapies, primarily Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (Level 2 AEDP) and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (Level 2 DDP). My work is also informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Theraplay. In addition to counselling, I love to spend my time outside with my partner, dog and horse, Abbey. My recently acquired certificate in Equine Massage Therapy allows me to combine my passion for athletics, physical wellness and the outdoors to help my four-legged friends feel their best!
