About
Life often consists of many challenges, but you don't have to face them alone! I am here to walk along side you on your journey as you rediscover your inner light and gain a better sense of who you are, what matters most in your life, and how to get back on the path towards increased mental health and wellness.
Biography
Hi, I’m Sawyer. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted, without judgment. Reaching out for support isn’t always easy, and I strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. My background includes working in community mental health, addiction services, family therapy, and primary care, supporting children, teens, adults, couples, and families through life’s most challenging moments. While I have specialized training in perinatal mental health and addiction, I also work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem, grief, and emotional overwhelm. I enjoy working with both women and men, as well as adolescents who may be struggling with identity, emotions, or family relationships. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and strengths-based approaches. Together, we’ll build practical tools while also exploring the deeper patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply looking for a space to process life’s challenges, my goal is to help you gain clarity, build resilience, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling. I offer both virtual counselling across Alberta and limited in-person sessions in Red Deer. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
