Jen Chan

Hello, my name is Jen. I support adults, parents, and youth navigating therapy for anxiety and depression, burnout, life transitions, parenting stress, relationship concerns, workplace stress, self-esteem, and cultural identity exploration. I believe healing begins in spaces where we feel safe, seen, and supported, and my goal is to co-create that space with you. As a second-generation Chinese Canadian, a partner to a first responder, a mother, and a former corporate professional, I bring a lived understanding of cultural identity, shifting roles, and the complex expectations of balancing work, caregiving, and personal growth. These experiences shape the compassion and relatability I bring into the therapy room. My approach is integrative and client-centred, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness- and somatic-informed practices. Alongside counselling, I am a yoga and mindfulness teacher with training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). These practices reinforce my belief in the mind–body connection and the healing that becomes possible when we learn to listen inward.
