Olivia De Guzman
Psychotherapist
I firmly believe that when you enter therapy, that therapy should be tailored to your goals, your needs, and your identity. I am passionate about helping clients of all ages find what works for them, and in helping them find balance in their lives. I hope to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where you can feel safe to share your thoughts, feelings, and true self - regardless of cultural background, religion, age, gender or sexual orientation. I lead from a person-centered, trauma-informed perspective with holistic interventions to meet you where you are on your healing journey.
I hold a Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree with a major in Psychology from the University of Winnipeg. With over 6 years in the mental health field, I have worked closely with adults and teens in both counselling and support work roles.
I have developed expertise in assisting individuals with challenges such as trauma, addictions, anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, self-harm and suicidal ideation. As a Metis counsellor, I have a special interest in helping others of Indigenous heritage navigate their cultural identities and generational trauma. Helping others to find balance in their lives, and to walk their own path of healing is something I cherish about the therapy process, and I aim to provide a safe, personalized experience to all that I walk with on their journeys.
