Lakshe Arumugam, BSc, MA, MACP
Registered Psychotherapist ( Qualifying)
As a member of the BIPOC community and the eldest daughter in an immigrant South Asian household, I understand the challenges of balancing multiple identities—navigating between the Western world and my cultural roots. I am passionate about creating a safe, genuine, non-judgmental and compassionate space where individuals from all walks of life can truly and genuinely feel heard, respected, and empowered
With an extensive academic background holding a BSc in Psychology, MA in School Psychology, a second MA in Counselling Psychology along with both professional experiences and most importantly my lived experiences, I work with clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, ADHD, and self-esteem struggles. I mostly integrate evidence-based approaches from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while tailoring my approach to meet each client’s unique needs and situation. My goal is to help individuals embrace their true selves, feel authentic in every space, and find the peace and confidence they deserve by first allowing a client to be heard, validated, and empowered.
I understand that taking the initial leap into starting the therapy process and finding the right therapist fit can be challenging, and it may take time to discover who truly best aligns with you and you feel the safest and genuine connection with. What you can always expect is I bring my authenticity and sincere empathy to every session, always ensuring that clients feel comfortable opening up in a non-judgmental environment. As a therapist, I truly believe that we are all humans first—just like you—and that human connection is the heart of meaningful healing. Let’s work together to navigate life’s challenges with understanding, care, and growth.
