Heather Armstrong
Registered Psychologist #7203
Do you struggle with being understanding and kind towards yourself and others after making a mistake? Find that you're often getting burnt out and that it deters you from achieving what you really want in life? Struggle with knowing and getting what you need in your relationships? Then welcome and hello! I'm Heather, a compassion-focused clinician who completely understands these and similar struggles, and I'd love to support you!
Our sessions will be collaborative to ensure we're on the same page about your goals and needs, full of thought provoking questions, and use of engaging homework and actions to work towards your goals. I am directive in sharing my knowledge, challenging perspectives, and use evidence-based approaches to tap into the brain's plasticity to inspire change. I often use visual guides, memes, and metaphors to break down clinical concepts into digestible ways.
I predominantly utilize Compassion-Focused Therapy/CFT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/ACT, and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy/CBT to support clients with their goals. These approaches explore how our evolution and lived experiences impact our thoughts and beliefs, feelings, and actions. By understanding how we've developed and how we maintain these ways of being, we can reduce shame and learn how to inspire change in these patterns.
Having a good fit with a therapist is important: email me to book a free 15-minute consult to ensure that the vibe is right for you. I hope to hear from you!
