Julie DeRose
Registered Provisional Psychologist
Hello! Trying to find a new therapist can be an overwhelming task! Where do you start? How do you choose someone? What do you look for? All important things to consider but good news, you are in the right place to start that journey! Feeling connected to your therapist is also very important since you want to feel comfortable to share and open up about what is bringing you into therapy. I hope as you read my bio, you will feel that connection and reach out for more information.
I am a former teacher, school counsellor, CCC, and currently, a Registered Provisional Psychologist. I work with children, teenagers, adults, couples and families.
With over 8 years of counselling experience, I am comfortable supporting clients with a range of presenting concerns, such as burnout, parenting, family dynamics, family conflict, relationship strains, postpartum anxiety/depression, stress, feeling overwhelmed, anger, grief, loss, work stress, depression, anxiety and other factors impacting emotional, personal and professional realms.
An integrated approach is utilized, matching strategies and interventions to the unique needs of each client. However, I often lean on solution-focused, CBT, narrative, wholistic, strength-based, and person-centred approaches.
I am a mother of two children and understand how busy life can be while you are working, in school, or managing a household. Life can put many pressures on us, both internal and external, which can create stress and other difficult symptoms to manage. My goal is to create a safe environment, where you can unload, learn some helpful strategies, and leave some of your thoughts and worries in the therapy session.
I’m looking forward to meeting you and I offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss symptoms and treatment plans.
