Erin Gilmour
Registered Psychotherapist, Certified Canadian Addiction Counsellor
My work is rooted in the belief that healing happens in relationship — to ourselves, our stories, and with others. As a therapist, I bring a warm, relational presence, a deep respect for your lived experience, and an easy, grounded style that often includes humor and humanity. Clients often tell me they feel safe to be fully themselves — even the parts they’ve spent years trying to hide.
My practice focuses on supporting individuals struggling with eating disorders, substance use, and relational trauma — the kinds of issues that are often misunderstood, deeply shame-based, and wrapped in painful cycles of coping. I don’t see these patterns as problems to be fixed, but as meaningful adaptations that make sense in the context of your life. Together, we gently explore the “why underneath the what,” moving toward greater clarity, self-trust, and lasting change.
I have specialized training in Coherence Therapy, an experiential model that uses the process of memory reconsolidation to bring deep emotional shifts — not just cognitive insight or symptom management. This work helps uncover and transform the emotional learnings driving symptoms like bingeing, self-criticism, anxiety, or emotional numbing, offering profound relief at the root level.
My approach is also informed by ongoing training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-informed care, and attachment-based relational therapy. I bring a blend of clinical depth and real-world compassion, always honouring the adaptive wisdom of your inner world.
Whether you’re feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, exhausted by the pressure to be “fine,” or simply longing for more ease and connection in your life, I offer therapy that is both deep and doable. My goal isn’t to pathologize you — it’s to walk with you as we make sense of the struggle and support new ways of relating to yourself with more kindness, clarity, and choice
