Erin Warner
Therapist (MSW, RSW)
Greetings! I'm accepting new clients and my name is Erin (she/they). I’m a Registered Social Worker, AuDHDer, researcher, and giant nerd.
What’s my niche? Well, I work with fellow ADHD/AuDHD/Autistic folks and I’m passionate about providing a space for your whole bodymind as it is. Maybe you were never taught how to do things with your ADHD brain or you have never fully understood the way that sensory overwhelm impacts your emotions… Not only is this an area of (special interest) research for me, but I live it as well! Beyond exploring all areas of neurodivergence, I am interested in supporting folks with exploring their gender and sexuality, life transitions, grief and loss, divorce and breakups, perfectionism, chronic illness, and disability. I am also trained in working with folks with developmental disabilities and making therapy accessible for all.
I typically lean on narrative and expressive arts modalities, as well as somatic approaches such as Hakomi and some parts work. However, the most important part is that you feel heard and understood in our time together, and we co-create what that looks like together.
What does a therapy session look like with me? Usually a whole lot of humanity. I welcome my whole human self as much as I welcome your whole human self. Sometimes we’ll be laughing, crying, yelling, or swearing together as we work through different parts of your story. Part of healing can be sitting in the muck, but we’ll be sitting in it together.
Who is Erin outside of the therapy world?: Please see above - giant nerd. I’m an avid D&D player representing the support class professionally and recreationally, I crochet, I tell a lot of pun jokes, I research pretty much anything, and I practice letting myself just do art without any expectations of what the product will be. If I’m not doing any of those things, I’m probably exhausted from chasing around my cockapoo puppy, Cosmo, who seems to have an endless font of energy.
I have a Master of Social Work, Clinical Specialization from the University of Calgary (2023), a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Calgary (2019), and a Bachelor of Communication and Culture from the University of Calgary (2016).
