I offer depth-oriented, trauma-informed psychotherapy to adults of all genders and backgrounds using primarily a psychodynamic approach but also drawing on emotion focussed, self-compassion, behavioural, and body-based techniques as needed. I provide therapy in-person and virtually, in French and English. I am accepting new clients. My approach to psychotherapy is grounded in an ethic of attentive and non-judgmental listening. Our work will highlight patterns and themes that emerge in your relationships and the ways that you manage challenging emotions, circumstances, and people. This process can help you move from feeling overwhelmed and defensive in relation to thoughts and emotions towards developing a sense of curiosity and enjoyment in exploring your inner world. A new space for experiencing compassion and creativity can begin to open up. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I trained and worked as a cultural anthropologist. This has given me a deep appreciation for the invisible cultural forces that suffuse us and that can shape our experience at the deepest levels. I bring this appreciation to bear when working to understand another's point of view and complexity of feeling. A life-long learner, I am continually developing myself as a psychotherapist through formal education, ongoing supervision, and study. My services are reimbursed by all insurance plans that cover counselling, psychotherapy, or psychology. I offer sliding scale prices for those who can't afford my regular fee ($150). I have some pro-bono spots available on a first-come-first-served basis for those facing financial barriers to care.
