person Biography

Welcome! I’m Alisa, (RCC, CCC) and I’m here to support you on your journey towards a better life. With over 30 years of experience in counselling, special education , youth work, and non-profit, I bring deep compassion, insight, and real-world understanding to counselling. My person-centered, solution-focused, and strength-based approach draws from a variety of evidence-based theories to meet your unique needs and guide you towards lasting, positive change. In our sessions, you’ll find a safe, judgement-free space where we can explore your challenges and strengths as we chart a path forward together. From our very first session, we’ll work collaboratively to envision a future where these struggles no longer define you. I believe in the power of genuine connection and meaningful conversations. Clients often describe me as someone who creates a safe, welcoming space - a space where those “ah-ha” moments of clarity and personal insight happen. It’s a privledge to be part of that transformation. I’m also a lifelong learner. After following my passion completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with Distinction, I founded Growing Minds Counselling to help people like you thrive. When I’m not in session, I love ocean walks, exploring unusual travel spots, and singing karaoke with friends. My partner, our grown kids, and our golden doodle Joey keep me grounded and smiling. I believe in the power of genuine connection and meaningful conversations.
