Cheryl Jejina
Registered Psychologist
I’m a psychologist who works with adults and women navigating burnout, trauma, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and major life transitions. I bring a grounded, thoughtful approach that helps even practical or skeptical clients feel comfortable, understood, and supported.
My work integrates evidence-based therapies with body-centered approaches, based on the understanding that healing is both cognitive and physiological. Many of the people I work with have already tried to “think their way through” things. In our work together, we go beyond insight to also shift the emotional and nervous system patterns that keep you feeling stuck.
I have extensive experience supporting individuals with emotional dysregulation, mood disorders, trauma, and complex trauma. I’ve facilitated DBT groups and workshops, and I often work with clients who feel caught in cycles of overwhelm, reactivity, or exhaustion. Many of my clients are high-achievers, caregivers, or women who are used to holding everything together while quietly carrying a lot internally.
I work especially well with women, including young adults and mothers, who are looking for depth and authenticity in therapy. You might find yourself here during a period of identity change, burnout, postpartum adjustment, or a shift in your beliefs or sense of self. I also support people working through family-of-origin challenges, attachment wounds, religious trauma, and the process of rebuilding trust in themselves after difficult or controlling experiences.
My approach draws from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), alongside somatic and mind-body practices, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed work, emotion-focused and attachment-based therapies, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and family systems perspectives. I tailor therapy to you, with a focus on practical tools, deeper understanding, and meaningful, sustainable change.
My goal is to create a steady, collaborative space where you can better understand yourself, feel more regulated, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Outside of my work, I’m usually spending time with my two boys, getting outdoors, painting, singing (sad songs are my favourite), or connecting with friends and family.
