David Tamagi
Registered Psychologist
Hi, I’m David, a Registered Psychologist with more than ten years of experience working in human services. Before becoming a psychologist, I worked as a teacher, which gave me a deep appreciation for the challenges people face during key stages of life. That experience, along with my commitment to compassionate care and evidence-based practice, shapes how I support individuals and couples today.
I understand how overwhelming life can feel—whether it’s shame, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem struggles, grief, or relationship challenges. My role is to provide a safe, empathetic space where you feel heard, respected, and supported as we work together toward greater peace, balance, and fulfillment.
I have a special focus on adolescents and young adults, helping them navigate school stress, identity development, and the transition into adulthood. I also work extensively with couples, supporting partners to strengthen communication, resolve conflict, and deepen connection. Another area I am passionate about is men’s mental health. Many men struggle under societal expectations of masculinity, and I provide a nonjudgmental space to explore vulnerability, resilience, and self-expression.
My approach integrates evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. While these modalities guide my work, I tailor each session to your unique needs, balancing compassionate understanding with practical tools for change.
Outside of my counselling work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, playing and watching sports, listening to music, and appreciating quiet evenings at home. These moments of balance and reflection keep me grounded and remind me of the small joys that make life meaningful.
If you’re ready to explore new perspectives, strengthen your relationships, or find a path through life’s challenges, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you. Together, we can work toward building resilience, confidence, and a life that feels more aligned with your values.
