Andrea Rowell
Registered Social Worker / Psychotherapist
Feel seen, feel heard, feel understood - it's what we all search for at our core and it's the least I can do for you. I am so glad you've mustered the courage to reach out.
Have you been feeling alone? Misunderstood? Burned out? It could be that your upbringing didn't feel sufficient in some way; and if life was a river, you feel like you're without a paddle. I also work with people who feel alone navigating the question - am I neurodivergent (ADHDers, Autistic, HSP - Highly Sensitive Person)? I also specialize with the queer community; recognizing the intersections of factors that lead to feeling defeated, misunderstood, alone, or burned out. I am 6 years into this field of psychotherapy; established enough that I am confident in my approach; new enough that I am invigorated to keep learning about the newest research and I have taken my own advice to evade burnout - still bright eyed and bushy tailed!
My big heart is ready to work with your big heart - to feel alone with all this may mean that feelings are close to the surface. No feeling is too big for me - you are welcome here. Deep breath! Try again to really take that in... you are welcome here :)

I have been given the wonderful compliment that I balance technique and humanity well. This is my natural state and I'm so glad I get to do this for a living.

My approach can be described as relational (the therapeutic relationship is the most important), and the techniques I pull from are IFS (internal family systems), somatic techniques, and other experiential therapies. I find that Dr. Tori Olds describes these approaches incredibly well.
