Biography

I’m Eleni, a Registered Psychotherapist in Guelph, Ontario. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be yourself—not when you feel like you have to perform, say the right thing, or arrive with everything figured out. My style is warm, engaged, curious and relational. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits silently and leaves you wondering what I’m thinking. I want therapy to feel like a genuine conversation while still helping you understand the deeper patterns that may be shaping how you feel, relate to others and see yourself. I’m especially drawn to working with people who have spent much of their lives taking care of everyone else, keeping the peace, questioning themselves, or adapting to difficult family and relationship dynamics. Often, part of our work is helping you separate who you really are from who you learned you needed to be. My approach draws from psychodynamic and attachment-based therapy, EMDR, IFS-informed work and other trauma-informed approaches. I don’t believe one method fits every person, so the approach can change depending on what you need. Above all, I want therapy to be a place where you can be human. You don’t have to impress me, protect me from your feelings, or have the perfect explanation for why you’re struggling. We can figure it out together.
