Tyler Ledwos

Registered Social Worker / Mental Health Therapist

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or like life isn’t quite going the way you hoped? Whether you’re an athlete dealing with injury, someone navigating a major life transition, or struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma, I’m here to support you. My name is Tyler, and I’m a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers. I provide individual therapy in Calgary and online throughout Alberta for adults seeking meaningful, lasting change in their lives. With both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Calgary – where I specialized in Adult Addiction and Mental Health – I’ve built a career working in a variety of clinical settings. My experience includes working in the community, hospitals, and as part of multi-disciplinary teams supporting individuals living with trauma, addiction, complex mental health conditions like schizophrenia and ADHD, and those grieving profound losses, including suicide bereavement. I am deeply committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your emotions, build self-awareness, and develop practical strategies that help you move forward. I work with clients from all walks of life, but I have a special interest in supporting men’s mental health, athletes (both current and retired), and individuals facing identity questions, stress, or significant life transitions. Growing up in sport and playing football throughout university taught me firsthand how mental health and performance go hand in hand. As a former high-level athlete, I understand the unique challenges athletes face – injuries, burnout, retirement, and the pressure to always perform. Whether you’re an elite athlete, weekend warrior, or somewhere in between, I offer specialized support that blends sports psychology with proven therapeutic techniques to help you thrive both on and off the field. My therapeutic approach is client-centered and trauma-informed. I draw from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, somatic-based practices, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), tailoring each session to your individual goals. I believe that therapy doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective – it should feel real, grounded, and meaningful. In my personal life, you’ll often find me cycling through Alberta’s scenic trails or enjoying downtime with friends and family. My love of movement and the outdoors deeply informs how I help clients connect with their own strengths and sense of purpose. If you’re in Calgary and looking for therapy that is compassionate, down-to-earth, and focused on helping you get unstuck, I’d be honoured to work with you. I currently have a limited number of sliding scale and low-cost appointments available to ensure therapy is more accessible. Reach out today to book a free consultation and see if we’re a good fit.
