Biography

Hi, I'm Michelle —the therapist behind MIVA Counselling. Sessions with me feel more like a conversation than a formal process. I take an easygoing, straightforward approach and place a lot of importance on building trust and real connection. I work with adolescents, young adults, adults, and families who feel lost, disconnected, or overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, eating disorders, ADHD or the lasting effects of trauma. Therapy can be a place to reconnect and breathe again. Whether we’re unpacking the past or focusing on present-day challenges, my goal is to help you gain clarity and develop strategies that truly fit your life. This is a safe, caring space where progress happens at your pace. There’s no right way to heal—we’ll discover what works for you, together. My work is integrative and responsive to what you need in the moment. I may incorporate attachment-based therapy, EMDR, trauma-informed care, CBT, DBT, or somatic techniques to help calm and regulate the nervous system. Because no two people are the same, therapy isn’t a fixed formula. Some clients want clear structure, others need room to explore, and many fall somewhere in between. Your therapy is thoughtfully shaped around your individual goals, needs, and pace.
