Lyndel Berry
Registered Psychotherapist
Hi, I’m Lyndel — the therapist for people who haven’t always had the best experience with therapy.
I get it. Talking to a stranger about things you’ve kept buried for years is hard — but that’s how healing begins. Therapy isn’t about having the perfect words or knowing exactly what to say; it’s about showing up, even when it’s uncomfortable. And if you don’t yet have the words for how you’re feeling or what you need, that’s okay. I can help you learn how to find them.
I’ll always respect your boundaries, but I’m not afraid to ask the hard questions — the ones that help you recognize when you might be getting in your own way. The truth is, the only way to get a different outcome is to start making different choices. But first, you have to see that there are choices. That process might not always be easy, but you won’t be doing it alone. I’ll be there with you, every step of the way, offering a safe, grounded, and supportive space.
If you’re in Calgary, I offer in-person sessions in a comfortable, transit-accessible office space just south of downtown, with free and street parking available. I also have extensive experience providing telehealth — both video and phone — so you can choose the format that fits best with your life and your schedule.
My areas of focus include:
Trauma and crisis (C-PTSD, PTSD, suicidal ideation, and self-harm)
Couples therapy — both monogamous and non-monogamous relationships
First responders and healthcare professionals
Life transitions, grief, ADHD, and adjusting to medical diagnoses
I take a flexible, client-centered, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive approach, and I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities based on your unique needs. I’m currently trained in CBT, DBT, Relational Life Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method. I’m also receiving training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), and I’m working toward certifications in Narrative Therapy and Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy.
If you're already a client and can’t find a session time that fits your schedule, feel free to message me — I keep some spots off-calendar just for you.
A little about me:
When I’m not in session, you’ll usually find me outdoors — camping or on my paddleboard in the summer, and snowshoeing or curled up by the fireplace in the winter, ideally with a good book or a new crochet project in hand.
