Hi! I'm Lyndel, I graduated with a Masters in Applied psychotherapy in October 2021 and have been working as a crisis counsellor since graduation. Before getting my graduate degree, I worked in the mental health and wellness industry for over 25yrs as a behavioural therapist, personal fitness trainer/sports psychologist and a nurse. I specialise in 2SLGBTQIA+ populations as that is my community, and have over 12yrs of practical, personal and professional experience in Ethical/Consensual Non Monogamy and BDSM alternative relationship structures. I offer virtual counselling primarily, and in-person counselling when requested. I am certified and trained in relational life therapy, Gottman, dialectal behaviour therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, solution-focused therapy and emotionally-focused therapy, so I am able to provide you with whatever techniques you need to handle the issues you're struggling with in your life. I believe in and practice client-focused therapy and that you are the expert in what you need, but I'm not afraid to ask the hard questions and help push you towards your goals. I am licensed and registered with CPCA and CCPCP and am able to see clients across Canada except for Quebec. I offer free 15min consultations to see if we are a good fit and I'm happy to answer any questions you have so that you can make the best choice for your mental health.
