Sam Boulazreg

Hi, my name is Samir and I am a licensed psychotherapist with a master's degree in counseling psychology. I have been working in the mental health field for 5 years and have experience helping individuals of all ages navigate various challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma. As a clinician, I mainly draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness-based modalities to provide clients with a greater understanding of themselves and their emotions. I believe that everyone has the capacity to grow and change, build resilience, and develop the necessary skills to cope with life's challenges. Additionally, as a former university athlete, I understand the challenges that athletes face as they transition in and out of sports and the reshaping of identity that comes with this process. Outside of my work as a therapist, I am passionate about research. I have published several peer-reviewed articles on topics such as mental health, loneliness, self-care, and burnout. I currently work as an independent academic researcher for an academic journal, and I infuse contemporary research into my role as a therapist by allowing it to continuously inform best-practice strategies.
