Kristin Matthews
Registered Psychologist
As a Registered Psychologist and the proud owner of KM Counselling, I am passionate about helping adults and teens who are ready to experience meaningful change. I have built my practice coming from years of experience in a variety of settings including private practice, community single-session counselling, and addiction and health prevention management. I have also designed and delivered counselling programs for workplaces across Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
My approach to counselling involves working with my client’s many strengths while using evidence-based practices. I believe that counselling should feel authentic, safe, and collaborative. I believe that meaningful change is best fostered when the therapy process is collaborative and client-centered. I practice from evidence-based approaches including solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, and emotion-focused therapy.
I know that people seek counselling for reasons that are not always easy to talk about. This is why I strive to create a safe and authentic space to explore the reasons most important to you. I understand that finding a counsellor who is a good fit is critical to your counselling experience so let's connect to see if we are a good fit.
