Registered Clinical Counsellor & Certified Canadian Counsellor

At the core of my personal and my registered clinical counselling life is the wholehearted belief that humans are intrinsically wired for both connection and healing. Therefore, it’s my privilege that you might consider me someone to (re)connect you to your authentic self, with your partner, with a life you want to fully live. I work from a trauma-informed perspective, and I connect best with both individual clients as well as couples struggling in the areas of trauma, anxiety, shame, attachment, boundaries, relationships. A sense of comfort and safety is important as you begin sharing your story. You can expect to be welcomed into a quiet, warm space. As you are ready, we will explore your experiences. Every client is unique in their experiences. While I bring a trauma-informed perspective into all sessions, I also integrate a person-centered approach…you will be safe, seen, valued, accepted, and never judged. We will work together at your pace. We will pause if you want. You can take your time and to connect and feel safe. This is your time, your journey and your story, after all. I deeply enjoy working with Couples. Perhaps both you and your partner are struggling to see eye to eye these days. Like, you try to share something and it goes sideways and ends up in an argument – it’s exhausting. You’re needing some relationship support. Do you recall what it’s like to be friends with that person? Could your relationship use support with how to repair or apologize after an argument? PRESENTLY, BOUNDARIES MIGHT FEEL HELPFUL FOR YOUR RELATIONSHIP. Exploring conflict, healthy communication and attunement (like, really deep listening, understanding, connecting and empathizing) in counselling can help recognize what may be out of balance within your relationship. Learning how to speak so you feel safe to communicate, heard and seen, while holding space for your partner to do this same…this is part of couples’ work. These things build trust and commitment. I use several approaches to support my clients. These approaches integrate Accelerated Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness practices, Attachment-based perspectives, and some Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). These all uniquely support a trauma-informed perspective. The Gottman Couples Method informs my work with couples and helps me connect you with the tools to navigate your relationship. Additionally, I welcome clients from all backgrounds and walks of life with or without spiritual beliefs and experiences. While I am a registered clinical counsellor, I am first, a wife and Mum. I am married to my favourite person in the world! We have 3 kids (through birth and international adoption). I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Trinity Western University and also a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#19845) through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, and I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (#10010707) through the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association
