Monika Goetz (she/her)
Registered Social Worker
I support teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, misophonia (sensitivity to sound), stress, work-life balance, self-esteem, confidence, and navigating identity and neurodivergence. I'm passionate about supporting fellow members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and use an affirming approach that accepts you as you are while supporting you to live the life that you want.
I believe that each person is the expert of their own life and that therapy is a collaborative process. My goal is to provide a space that feels as safe and accessible as possible for you to take a breather, share and process what’s weighing on you, and feel empowered to tune into your inner wisdom and reach your goals - whatever that looks like for you.
When meeting with me, you can expect to be met with warmth, compassion, and wholeheartedness, as you discuss your hopes, dreams, fears, and goals, all at your own pace. We'll explore what you're hoping for from counselling, what's working in your life and what's not, and different strategies and skills that can help you enjoy life more fully. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches to meet your unique goals, including Mindfulness, Polyvagal Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
I offer complimentary 20-minute consultations by video or phone so that you can get a sense of what it’d be like to meet with me. We can chat about what’s going on for you, how I can support you, and you can ask any questions. If you have any accessibility needs or concerns, let me know and we can discuss how to make it an accessible experience. You can book online through our website anytime, or send me an email or leave a voicemail, and I'll get back to you soon.
Most insurance providers cover counselling/psychotherapy provided by a registered social worker such as myself. If cost or insurance coverage is a concern, let me know and we can chat about sliding scale pricing. This is something I offer to a limited number of clients, and may be an option for you.
