Erin Greenough
Registered Provisional Psychologist
In 2018, I pivoted from my decade long career as a graphic artist and pursued psychology, with insight into creatives, freelancers and other similar professionals. Additionally, I'm interested in how gender and sexuality impact our experiences. Because of this, I'm passionate about working with individuals on women's issues, men's issues, queer identities, and gender identity.
A large part of my practice is supporting individuals who are struggling with concerns related to sex, intimacy, and relationships. However, not all issues need to be sexual or intimate in nature. Many clients who come for sex therapy find that they benefit from treatment of underlying concerns such as fear, anxiety, depression, trauma, lacking confidence, or low mood. My practice is patient and affirming while using science-backed techniques to ensure we are meeting your goals quickly. This might look like exploring the connections between our thoughts and feelings, learning new coping skills, finding self-acceptance, or challenging the systems that impact our wellbeing.
If you’re feeling stuck with your partner, couples counselling might be right for you. Using techniques inspired by The Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Sex Therapy, I work with couples on a variety of concerns including: Communication, Sex & Intimacy, Mismatched Desire, Trust, Infidelity, Boundaries, and Disagreements. I can also assist couples in navigating marriage by providing secular / non-denominational pre-marital counselling. Overall, my goal in couples counselling is not to be your referee every time you have a fight. Rather, I will be teaching you how to be your own therapists so you can manage conflicts effectively on your own.
All types of partnerships are welcome in my office, including queer, polycules, and those practicing ethical non-monogamy.
