About

Feeling anxious, stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected? I offer warm, relational, trauma-informed therapy to help you understand emotional patterns, heal past wounds, build self-trust, and relate to yourself with greater compassion. My approach integrates EFT, IFS-informed, attachment-based, person-centred, and mindfulness-based therapies.

Biography

My name is Joanna, and I know that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable. Whether you are navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or a quiet sense that something in your life no longer fits, I offer a warm, grounded, and compassionate therapeutic space. I am not afraid to sit with you in the heaviness of your inner world, and I will meet you there with care, curiosity, and respect. I work with individuals and couples seeking more than surface-level coping. Together, we explore the emotional patterns, past experiences, attachment wounds, and protective strategies that may be keeping you stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of yourself. My goal is to help you better understand your inner world, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and move toward lasting change with greater clarity, self-trust, and self-compassion. My clinical approach is integrative, relational, and trauma-informed. I draw on emotion-focused therapy, internal family systems-informed work, person-centred therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, attachment-based therapy, and other evidence-informed modalities tailored to your needs and goals. I am especially interested in trauma, developmental and relational wounds, emotional regulation, shame and self-worth, relationship dynamics, and how our earlier experiences continue to shape how we feel, connect, protect ourselves, and move through the world. Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years as a visual artist and art educator. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting from OCAD University, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Toronto, and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. My background in art continues to shape how I work as a therapist: with creativity, patience, deep attention, and respect for the complexity of each person’s inner world. I understand that healing, like creative work, is not always linear. It often asks us to slow down, listen closely, make space for what has been hidden, and gently begin to see ourselves in a new way. I am also a mother, an immigrant, and part of an intercultural marriage, which gives me a personal appreciation for the complexity of identity, belonging, family life, culture, relationships, and change throughout the lifespan. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can bring all parts of yourself into the room, including those that feel messy, uncertain, ashamed, guarded, angry, grieving, or hard to name. You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning. We can start exactly where you are. Oferuję również usługi terapeutyczne w języku polskim.
