About

Hi, I’m Katelyn Matias, a Registered Psychotherapist and the Founder of Anchor & Bloom Psychotherapy. My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in attachment theory. I believe that our experiences, relationships, and nervous system responses shape how we understand ourselves, navigate emotions, and connect with others.

Biography

Hi, I'm Katelyn Matias I am a Registered Psychotherapist and the Founder of Anchor & Bloom Psychotherapy. My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in attachment theory. I believe that many of the struggles we experience in adulthood are shaped by our early relationships, life experiences, and the ways our nervous system has learned to adapt in order to feel safe. I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, childhood trauma, attachment wounds, infidelity, emotional distress, relationship conflict, self-esteem concerns, identity exploration, personality disorders, and psychotic disorders. I also have a special interest in supporting women through fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum depression, and the emotional transitions that can accompany parenthood. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where you can explore your experiences with clarity, curiosity, and compassion. I understand that every person’s story is unique, which is why I tailor therapy to your individual goals, values, and concerns. Together, we will work to better understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, while building practical tools for meaningful and lasting change. My work integrates evidence-based approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and person-centred therapy. When working with couples, I focus on helping partners identify and de-escalate negative interaction cycles, strengthen emotional safety, improve communication, and foster a more secure and connected relationship. I view therapy as a collaborative process. Whether you are looking to heal from past experiences, navigate a difficult life transition, improve your relationships, or gain a deeper understanding of yourself, I strive to help you feel supported every step of the way. My hope is that therapy provides not only relief from current challenges, but also a stronger foundation for growth, resilience, and meaningful connection moving forward.
