About
I work with folks who long to break free from patterns that perhaps were once helpful but are now worn out or destructive, who wish to reclaim lost or forgotten parts of themselves, their ancestral lineages, and their communities; who are seeking autonomy, sovereignty, and a sense of purpose in a world that needs us to show up and participate in our own unique ways more than ever.
Biography
Hi! My name is Liana (pronouns she/her). I was born and raised in Greater Vancouver, on the the unceeded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) ,Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and kwikwəƛ̓ əm (Kwikwetlem) nations. I am a mixed-race, cisgender woman with roots tracing back to China and the UK. I have been immersed in the study and practice of psychology for over 25 years. I hold a master’s degree in counselling psychology from Adler University and a second master’s degree in depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, where I specialized in Jungian and archetypal studies. That said, I have learnt far more from being a client on the couch than any academic degree or book could teach. Somatic and creative practices such as yoga, dance, writing, and dream work have helped me cultivate a greater sense of connection to myself and the world around me. Being out in nature has been a significant teacher and support. From a depth-oriented perspective, I offer support with cultural identity and belonging, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, trauma, and life transition. I am an Approved Clinical Supervisor with the BCACC and work with counsellors who are seeking a depth oriented and relational supervision experience. The work I do in the world cannot be separated from my ongoing and imperfect engagement with my own healing journey. I attempt to live the work that I offer, and it is my hope that this contributes to a safe, warm, and transformative environment for my clients. In my spare time, you can find me on a dance floor or yoga mat, in a forest, or in a cuddle puddle with my two cats, Figgy and Charlie.
