About

I work with adults, youth and couples on a variety of challenges, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, chronic illness, and medical trauma. I work to create an environment where you feel supported to be yourself. Therapy can be scary, and I want to make sure you do not feel judged but instead heard. I use a variety of modalities, incorporating traditional and bottom-up approaches.

Biography

I am currently a registered provisional psychologist, working in South Calgary (and online). I have a background in child development and social work before I made the switch and obtained my master's in counselling. Like most people, I have gone through hard times and know how difficult it can be to go through them alone. Instead of trying to push through, it can be so much better to reach out to someone else for support. I try to make our sessions relaxed, where if we want to sit on the floor and colour while we talk, we do that. Even though we often talk about deep, hard topics, moments of lightness and ease should also be a part of sessions. While I am passionate about many areas, I do have a love of supporting people with chronic illness/pain, and medical trauma. Having a congenital condition myself, I always found it so hard to find a therapist who understood the challenges that can come on a daily basis with that while also not wanting my whole life to be about that. So when I am able to be that person for someone else, I am truly honoured. Outside of work, I can be a bit of a geek; one of my favourite shows is Doctor Who, and I'm still obsessed with Harry Potter (do not support the author), a book dragon (much cooler than a bookworm), and a granny hobby enthusiast, and an incredibly proud auntie. I can't wait to meet you and get to know the wonderful things that make you who you are and support you on becoming more fulfilled with your life
