Biography
Stephanie Campoli, MSW, RSW, is a Registered Social Worker in good standing with both the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW #824993) and the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW #10637). With more than 12 years of clinical experience spanning hospital-based BPD treatment, residential addictions care, intimate partner violence counselling, and post-secondary mental health, she brings a depth of training that's hard to find in a solo private practice. Clients who come to this practice are often people who feel stuck — caught in cycles of overwhelming emotions, self-sabotage, addictive behaviours, or relationship patterns that keep repeating. Many have tried therapy before and found it didn't quite click. The practice is built around a different kind of therapeutic experience: direct, transparent, evidence-based, and willing to go where other therapists sometimes won't, including with clients who experience self-harm or suicidal thoughts. Therapy is grounded in research-backed approaches including comprehensive Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Treatment is collaborative — clients always understand the tools being used and why. The practice is anti-racist, culturally responsive, and LGBTQIA+ affirming, and is intentionally welcoming to clients who have had invalidating experiences in past therapy. Areas of focus include: Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and BPD traits Complex trauma and PTSD Addictions, substance use, and problem gambling Mood and anxiety disorders Perinatal mental health and parenting stress Relationship difficulties Work-related burnout and life transitions A 6-week virtual DBT Skills Group is also offered periodically for residents of Ontario and Nova Scotia, covering mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. New clients can book a free 20-minute phone consultation to assess fit before committing to ongoing therapy. Sessions are available in-person in Oshawa (serving Durham Region including Whitby, Ajax, Courtice, and Bowmanville) and virtually throughout Ontario and Nova Scotia. Website: stephaniecampoli.ca
