Janna den Haan
Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)
Take a moment to breathe deeply. Inhale, releasing tension in your shoulders and neck. Exhale, allowing yourself to relax. I'm glad you're here. Even in life's most challenging moments, embracing our emotions and physical sensations cultivates self-compassion and resilience. I'm here to guide you through this process. I will help you uncover the underlying issues holding you back and empower you to make the positive changes you desire.
I can guide you through the process of managing anxiety and overwhelming emotions, establishing healthy boundaries, articulating needs, clarifying values, and reclaiming your authentic self. I can support your recovery from complex trauma, including childhood trauma, religious trauma, and generational trauma. I can also help you navigate challenges with being an adult child of narcissistic, emotionally immature, or substance-abusing parents.
At the start of your work with me, you'll receive psychoeducational information to help you better understand what's troubling you, how your body experiences emotions, and strategies for regulating those emotions. As you progress, I will gently direct you into corrective emotional experiences to address the root causes of your struggles. Within the safety of the therapeutic relationship, I'll help you explore how painful life experiences have shaped you, and then, with you as the guide, facilitate a caring emotional experience with that pain. This process will help you metabolize those difficult feelings and create new, healthy neurological connections in your brain.
My passion as a counsellor is in witnessing clients accept and care for the pain they've been carrying through facilitating corrective emotional experiences. I believe that caring for this pain is crucial for deep healing. When embraced, pain transforms into healing and personal growth emerges. You are warmly invited to begin this transformative journey to embrace freedom!
