Nadia Malik
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
I have my Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Psychology from Queen's University and Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I have worked as a medical administrative assistant with a group of doctors for 15 years. My counselling and psychotherapy experience includes a variety of populations and backgrounds including children, youth, young adults, adults, and couples. I have helped with a range of concerns including grief/loss, couples counselling, stress, substance use, premarital counselling, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, coping skills, anger management, life coaching, trauma, and more.
In sessions with me you will experience warmth, empathy, a nonjudgmental and safe environment. In my client-centered approach I focus on building trust while showing you unconditional acceptance and care. We will collaborate together in partnership to increase insight, learn adaptive skills, and foster your growth to help you make healthy changes in your life. My approach is eclectic as I fully appreciate your uniqueness, your lifestyle, history, culture, and worldview, and seek to tailor therapy to best suit your individuality. Some of the therapies I draw from include Cognitive Behavioural, Solution-focused, Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, Narrative, Strengths-based, and others depending on what will be best suited to you.
Contact me when you're ready. We will walk together on your mental health journey towards healing and wellness. A happier, healthier you is possible and you deserve it!
