Ashley Toogood
Registered Psychotherapist, RP, MA, BA (she, her)
Hello and Welcome, All!
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by people’s stories. I remember sitting with my grandparents, wholly absorbed in their tales of growing up, and spending hours chatting with friends about the ups and downs of their lives. That natural curiosity and love for listening is what led me to become a therapist—it’s truly a privilege to hear and hold space for others' stories.
Why I Do This Work
Therapy, for me, is about creating a genuine connection. I believe everyone deserves a space where they are seen and heard. If you’re looking for someone who values authenticity, genuineness and directness, I might be the person for you. I’m here to support you in your journey, wherever you’re starting from. You deserve the freedom that comes from letting go of the pressure to manage everything and everyone. Whether you’re feeling burned out from caretaking or exhausted by overthinking, I’m here to help you reclaim your peace. If you're ready to prioritize yourself for an hour. I'm ready to arrange a consultation.
Outside the Therapy Space
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me outdoors, soaking up the calm of nature. Whether it’s a quiet walk in the park or a hike through the woods, being surrounded by trees and fresh air helps men unwind and recharge.
I also love to unwind by getting creative—knitting, crafting, or writing are some of my favourite ways to relax and express myself. There’s something special about making something with your hands or putting your thoughts on paper.
And yes, I’m a bit of a nerd/geek (without a math degree) and casual gamer! For me, gaming isn’t just about the game itself, though sometimes it can be; it’s about connecting and laughing with friends, sharing adventures, and building memories together.
