Nikki Ward
Registered Psychotherapist
Welcome! I’m Nikki, Registered Psychotherapist
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, leaving you feeling uninspired, anxious, or stressed. Whether you’re facing specific challenges or simply want to explore your values and goals to live a more fulfilling life, I’m here to offer the support you need. I understand the positive impact that counselling can have, and I’m passionate about providing others with the same opportunities for wellness that have made such a difference in my own life.
My approach to counselling has been shaped by my personal experiences, as well as over 13 years of work in the mental health sector. During that time, I have provided counselling and case management support to at-risk and marginalized communities, including women, families, youth in the shelter system, and incarcerated individuals. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the barriers many face, and I bring this knowledge and compassion into my work with each client.
I specialize in helping individuals navigate addictions, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, ADHD, and life transitions. My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I use an eclectic approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic therapy, Expressive Arts therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and stress reduction strategies. Together, we will work collaboratively to achieve your goals and enhance your overall well-being.
I believe you are the expert of your own life, and I am here to help you unlock your inner strength and get to where you want to be. Please reach out to schedule a FREE initial consultation, or to learn more about how I can help you on your journey of growth and healing.
