Registered Psychotherapist, MA Counselling Psychology

I'm so glad you are here. Sometimes we can feel weighed down by sadness, anxiety, shame, a harsh inner critic, or not feeling “good enough”. This can sometimes occur with difficulty with people pleasing, perfectionism, chronic worry, or unreasonably high self-standards. Are you a high performer, an artist, athlete, dancer (or former)? Has a life transition or loss left you feeling overwhelmed? I strive to help folks like you to build a more compassionate and loving relationship with yourself, to process difficult experiences, and to learn more effective coping tools. I work with creative people, high performers, deep thinkers, athletes, highly sensitive people, and those struggling with high standards, and related feelings of anxiety and depression. I also provide therapy for grief and loss, trauma/CPTSD, and chronic stress. My approach is warm, compassionate, collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I have a deep and unique understanding of the experience of depression, anxiety, complex trauma, and athlete/dancer mental health and wellness. In your sessions, we will focus on what is most important to you. I will do my best to help you move towards meeting your individual therapy goals. I integrate a variety of therapeutic modalities, including: Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Humanistic Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Parts Work Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) Mindfulness-Based and Somatic Therapies Narrative Neuroscience-informed Person-Centered Strength-Based Trauma-Informed We can explore life experiences more deeply, and/or focus on managing the present day through actionable tools. We will work together to find the right approach for you. My primary goal as your therapist will be making sure you feel heard and understood for your unique feelings and experiences. I will listen with non-judgement, respect your autonomy and move at your pace. I also like to bring in curiosity, metaphors, psycho-education, and humour. If you think we may be a good fit, I welcome you reaching out for a free 15-30 minute consultation.
