Choosing the right therapist is a big deal. Just like a travel partner will impact the experiences you have on your trip, your therapist will impact how your mental health journey unfolds. I commend you for making this important decision thoughtfully. To tell you a bit about myself, I am a psychologist working with adults facing a variety of life struggles including trauma, OCD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, perfectionism, shame, health issues and life transitions. I received my B.Sc in Neuroscience and Psychology from University of Toronto, my Masters in Brain, Behavior and Cognitive Science from York University, and My PhD in Clinical Psychology from University of Windsor. I am grateful to have received training in a range of modalities including mindfulness, compassion focused, emotion focused, CBT and psychodynamic therapies in a variety of settings including private practices, outpatient clinics, hospitals and university counselling centres. My goal is to get an "inside out" understanding of your life to the point where you feel I truly understand your struggle - how it developed, how it is maintained and how it can change. Together, we choose a method for addressing your concern. We use your feedback to monitor progress and modify our initial plan, as needed. My approach is grounded in empathy and curiosity. My hope is to help you develop a better relationship with your thoughts and feelings so that their presence is no longer seen as a barrier to building a meaningful life.
