Biography

Thank you for considering the opportunity for us to work together. I am a Registered Psychologist in BC and Alberta. I specialize in counselling for loss, grief, and bereavement. Particular areas of focus are: death and dying, MAID, traumatic grief, suicide bereavement, perinatal loss, pet loss, anticipatory grief, nonfinite loss, life transitions, caregiver support, and ecological grief. Grief is our natural response to the loss or anticipated loss of someone or something that matters to us. Learning to live with loss is an adaptive process of integrating grief into who you are now and fostering meaningful connections, even in absence. I have focused my education and career on the psychology of grief for over 20 years. Following my doctorate in 2012, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship in end-of-life care, grief, and bereavement. Through my experiences in community, educational, and private settings, I have had the privilege to support many diverse persons in their grief journeys. My counselling approach is characterized by empathy, compassion, and integrity. I work from an integrative and resilience-informed theoretical orientation, drawing from grief and bereavement research and evidence-based practices. Through use of these cognitive, emotional, and body-focused modalities, I strive to gain a comprehensive understanding of your grief, your resources, and pathways to rebuilding. I look forward to connecting.
