Biography

Hi, I’m Melissa — it is lovely to (virtually) meet you. I am a Registered Social Worker and the proud founder of Striving for Synergy Psychotherapy and Counselling Clinic. I offer individual psychotherapy for adults navigating trauma, anxiety, OCD, and attachment-related concerns. If what you read here resonates, I would be more than happy to connect for a free 20-minute consultation call. If you have spent years holding it together on the outside while quietly unraveling inside, therapy might be the space you did not know you needed. Many of the individuals I work with arrive feeling exhausted — from performing, pleasing, overthinking, or simply surviving. They may not have the words for what they are carrying, but they know something needs to shift. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and deeply attuned to your nervous system. I integrate evidence-based therapies such as somatic techniques, mindfulness-based practices, and parts work to help you move from coping and symptom management toward real, lasting change — in your body, your relationships, and your sense of self. I specialize in trauma therapy, anxiety treatment, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and attachment healing. With nearly fourteen years of experience in the mental health field, I support individuals in reconnecting with themselves, breaking out of survival mode, and reclaiming a sense of wholeness. I am a Registered Social Worker in Ontario and a board-certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the United States, with advanced training in neuroscience, somatic therapy, and relational approaches to healing. Therapy with me is not about fixing what is broken — it is about waking up to the parts of you that have been silenced, pushed aside, or forgotten. If you are ready to do the deeper work, I would be honoured to walk alongside you.
