Nicole Lacy
Registered Psychotherapist
I'm a seasoned and highly approachable Registered Psychotherapist with more than 17 years of clinical experience. Reach out for a free consultation if you are seeking help in healing from the impact of difficult relationships and upbringings; navigating family conflict and estrangement; modifying attachment styles; exploring identity, purpose, and meaning; managing stress and burnout; facing anxiety and uncertainty; changing unwanted habits; handling change and transitions; and/or gaining greater self-awareness and control of the patterns that impact your life.
In terms of my general therapeutic orientation, I draw heavily from attachment-based, existential, psychodynamic, relational psychoanalysis, and trauma-informed traditions. As for techniques, I tailor these to my clients' needs and will happily integrate acceptance and commitment and dialectical behaviour skill-building, as well as other strategies when useful.
In sessions, I work with my clients to understand the roots of their suffering and uncover the themes and patterns influencing their lives. As these patterns are brought to light, I create space for my clients to safely process underlying emotions regarding their experiences, test out new behaviours and ways of relating, and develop the necessary skills to support future growth.
My current fee for 50 minute individual sessions is $170 with sliding scale availability and I offer all potential clients a free 20 minute consultation to see if we might be a good match. Many Canadian insurers cover services rendered by a Registered Psychotherapist but you will want to verify your coverage prior to booking an appointment.
