About

You're feeling disappointed that relationships never seem to last past a certain point. As far as you remember, you had a fairly “normal” childhood, but why is it so difficult to get close to others? Relational wounds heal through new experiences of positive relationship, and therapy can be a great place to explore that in a safe and structured way.

Biography

As a therapist, I will strive to create a safe place to begin working through your current challenges together, at your pace. As we identify what works best for you, we will likely explore different ways to process past experiences, release emotional distress, practice coping skills, and set healthy boundaries, while focussing on your goals and values. I work with clients who are often struggling with depression, anxiety, or trauma related to their relationships, work, or family life. During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you to regain your sense of self. I am a graduate of OPCC in Toronto, where training is focussed on Psychodynamic Therapy. I also focussed my BA Psyc. education on Women's and Gender Studies, and have diverse work/life experience in home-care, trades, creative arts, youth-work, retail, outdoor and pastoral leadership. My psychodynamic and attachment-based approach includes exploring the relational roots of your current experience. Gaining more understanding these formational influences can help identify how to shift or change current patterns you may be struggling to manage. Using expressive arts, mindfulness-based, somatic, or emotions focussed practices can also help reconnect with the innate healing capacity in all of us. I believe that healing is possible. If you are unsure where to start, please text, call or email to book your free 30-minute online consultation. I am committed to helping you uncover what you are hoping for through therapy and set course with you in that direction. I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story, and embarking on this path together.
