Biography

I’m Francisca (“Fran”) Carrasco, MA, RCC, CCC—a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Canadian Certified Counsellor living on beautiful Vancouver Island. After earning my Psychology degree in 2009, I've spent more than 15 years supporting children, teens and adults in both Chile and Canada. Through my practice, Compassionate Healing, I specialize in Compassion-Focused Therapy and weave in mindfulness, ACT, CBT, IFS, Gestalt and somatic approaches. I’m also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, a Mindful Eating (MB-EAT-QI) instructor and a Gestalt therapist for children and adolescents. I work best with people who feel stuck in anxiety, overthinking, perfectionism or low self-esteem—especially those who consider themselves highly sensitive or who navigate multiple cultures. My goal is to offer a warm, non-judgemental space where we transform shame and self-criticism into self-acceptance and meaningful action. You’ll find me in Langford for in-person daytime sessions on Mondays, and online (secure video) Wednesday through Friday. I counsel in both English and Spanish and warmly welcome LGBTQ2S+, BIPOC and newcomer communities.
