Warm greetings, my name is Joshua Dhanaraj (He/Him) and I am a student therapist completing my final year in a Masters of Counselling Psychology through City University in Canada (Calgary, AB). Biography

Life is a journey that comes with its share of storms. At times, these difficult experiences can leave us feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or stuck in cycles that make it hard to know how to move forward. Please know that you do not have to navigate these heavy moments alone. My intention as a student therapist is to offer a safe and intentional space to allow you to feel heard, be able to explore experiences safely, and identify what you need to help you move toward greater clarity and well-being. As a student therapist in my final year completing my Masters of Counselling Psychology from City University in Canada, I provide affordable and accessible counselling through Jade Counselling Services. I practice from the fundamental belief that every human being deserves dignity, deep respect, and a non-judgmental space to be supported and cared for. I also bring a person-centered, strengths-based, and deeply compassionate approach towards collaborative work. To support my journey as a student therapist, I also draw upon professional skills gained from grounded frontline experience in the mental health field particularly within Crisis and suicide intervention, Clinical counselling, Child and youth care, and Community support services. In addition, my lived experiences and intersecting identities, including my experiences as a first-generation South Asian immigrant Canadian, continually motivate me toward advocacy, social justice, and systemic change. I look forward to walking alongside you as we work together toward your unique therapeutic goals.
