About
Relationships can get stuck, and so can we. I specialize in helping couples navigate recurring conflict, disconnection, trust, sex, and mismatched desire. I also work extensively with individuals exploring sex, identity, chronic illness, burnout, grief, and relationship patterns. As a queer, nonbinary therapist, I offer warm, direct, affirming virtual therapy across Ontario.
Biography
Therapy can help you understand what is keeping you stuck, whether the struggle is happening within you, between you and a partner, or both. You may be caught in the same conflict, feeling disconnected from yourself or someone you love, struggling with sex or trust, or navigating changes in identity, health, roles, or relationships. Couples therapy is a central focus of my practice. I work with partners who want to understand what keeps happening between them, communicate more honestly, and feel more connected. We can talk openly about conflict, trust, sex, intimacy, desire differences, boundaries, jealousy, kink, non-monogamy, caregiving, and neurodivergence. I welcome queer, trans, and nonbinary partners, as well as monogamous, polyamorous, and ENM relationships. You will not need to defend or explain the legitimacy of who you are or how you love. I also work extensively with individuals. You might be exploring sex, sexuality, gender, identity, shame, desire, chronic illness, medical trauma, burnout, grief, or patterns that keep showing up in your relationships. These experiences often overlap, and therapy can make room for the whole picture. Together, we can better understand what you are carrying, reconnect with what matters to you, and find ways forward that feel genuinely your own. I’m Kai DeMaeyer, a queer, nonbinary Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). My work is relational, sex-positive, trauma-informed, queer-affirming, body-aware, and informed by narrative therapy and parts work. My approach is warm, paced, and direct. I offer virtual therapy for adults and couples across Ontario. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. A free 15-minute consultation gives us a chance to meet and see whether I might be the right therapist for you.
