Biography
Treena holds a Master of Social Work Degree from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from the University of Victoria. She is a Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) with the Alberta College of Social Workers and a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She has been a practicing Social Worker in Alberta for 25+ years. Treena is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Ego State Therapy and works within a framework of task-centered and problem-solving models. Her approach is client centered, trauma informed and strength based. Treena pulls from multiple theories of practice including biopsychosocial theory, systems theory and social learning theory when determining the best therapeutic approach for successful client outcomes. Treena is a Certified EMDR Therapist. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is currently considered to be the gold standard of trauma treatment in the world. The efficacy of this treatment has been demonstrated repeatedly. Treena specializes in PTSD, C-PTSD and Structural Dissociation.
